When you request quotes, we collect your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, date of birth, gender, tobacco use, general health status, and the type and amount of coverage you want. We also record your consent to be contacted, including the date, time, and the consent language shown to you.
Information collected automatically. We and our service providers collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring website, and marketing campaign parameters. We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics, such as Google Analytics.
How we use information
- To connect you with licensed insurance agents or agencies who can provide quotes
- To contact you about your request
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site, and to prevent fraud and spam
- To comply with legal obligations and keep records of consent
How we share information
- Insurance partners. When you request quotes, we share the information you submit with one or more licensed insurance agents or agencies listed on our partners page. They may contact you and use your information under their own privacy policies. We receive compensation for these referrals.
- Service providers who host the Site, store data, provide analytics, or help us operate, under contracts that limit their use of your information.
- Legal and safety reasons, such as responding to lawful requests, or in connection with a merger or sale of our business.
We don't sell your information to data brokers. Sharing your quote request with insurance partners in exchange for compensation may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under some state privacy laws. You can opt out as described below.
Your choices and rights
- Do not sell or share my personal information. Email support@directlifequote.com with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share." We also honor Global Privacy Control browser signals for data collected automatically.
- Access, correction, and deletion. Depending on where you live, including California and other states with privacy laws, you may have the right to know what we've collected about you, to correct it, and to ask us to delete it. Email us to make a request. We'll verify your request and respond within the time required by law. We won't discriminate against you for using these rights.
- Calls, texts, and emails. You can withdraw consent to be contacted at any time. Reply STOP to texts, ask a caller to stop, use the unsubscribe link in emails, or email us.
- Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. To opt out of Google Analytics, you can use Google's browser add-on.
Data retention and security
We keep quote request and consent records as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal requirements, generally up to five years for consent records. We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit, but no system is completely secure.
Children
The Site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
